World-Class Coaching
From First Step To Tournament Podium
Whether you're stepping on the mat for the first time or preparing for high level tournaments, our world-class coaching staff guides every step of your journey.
Marcelo earned his black belt in 2000 from Carlos Gracie Jr. back in Rio de Janeiro. Training and competing alongside legends of the sport, he built his foundation through years of high-level training, competition and teaching with the Gracie family and their notable students.
He competed at the 1st Pan American Championship in 1995 and the 1st World Championship in 1996, taking the mat across every belt of the adult division — blue, purple, brown and black — from 1994 to 2003, collecting multiple titles along the way.
In 2015 he moved to California under Ralph Gracie and competed in the Black Belt Masters division from 2015 to 2023 with multiple accomplishments and wins. For more than 8 years he has been teaching in Mission Viejo, bringing all of that experience to help students reach their Jiu Jitsu goals and build a strong community.
